Juan Emilio Checa

Juan Emilio Checa is a Canarian artist who embodies key principles in his creative process: simplicity, impermanence, imperfection, and color. His works embrace asymmetries, cracks, signs of wear, and irregular forms as markers of authenticity and life. Using a mixed media technique based on palette knife and assemblage, and incorporating materials such as sand or volcanic soil, burlap, mesh, and cardboard, he brings to life the central concept of his work: the beauty that emerges, both from the material and the immaterial, with the passage of time.
